Order Details JOB SUMMARY TheperianesthesiaRegistered Nurse is an essential member of the multidisciplinary patient care team and practice involves critical thinking, clinical decision making and inquiry. The scope of care involves the cultural, developmental and age-specific assessment, diagnosis, intervention and evaluation of individuals within the perianesthesia continuum and promotion of an environment of quality care to a diverse population. The continuum includes preadmission, day of surgery/ preop, PACU (post anesthesia care unit/ recovery) and Phase II recovery of the surgical patient. The nurse in this role will focus on physical, psychological, sociocultural and spiritualcare of the patient and will provide education and interventions to optimize outcomes. There is a call component to this position and required response time is 45 minutes. JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:Associates Degree in Nursing requiredValid State of Maine RN licenseACLS/BLS/PALS certification requiredExperience:1-3 years previous nursing experience preferredPrevious experience in Surgical Services preferredOther Skills Required:Excellent written, verbal and interpersonal skills requiredAbility to handle multiple priorities at onceIndependent discretion/decision making and able to make decisions under pressureHighly organized and detail oriented Additional Information:***All traveler time off requests must be disclosed at the time of submission and approved prior to processing the confirmation.
